I've been asking people what 50 Cent's is rapping about on the track "In Da Club" without getting any good answers - even reading the lyrics did not help me a whole lot. It left me wondering whether or not he was recommending drug abuse.

It turns out that the good folks over at Music Critic have noticed the fact that a lot of rap music is rather indecipherable to the uninitiated. Consequently they have started a "break/doWn" series to translate popular songs into proper English.

50 Cent : In Da Club - the lyrics translated. .

Studying these translations it is quite fascinating how information rich the hip-hop domain language is, as evidenced by the verbosity of the translated lyrics compared to the originals.

Thanks to Anders for supplying the link to Let Me Blow Ya Mind another enjoyable installment in this series.
